BGSU Ice Arena Reviews, Bowling Green Hockey | Stadium Journey

This was one of my favorite review trips for Stadium Journey. Bowling Green State University's hockey program has a hidden-in-plain-sight situation with its history. Alumni include Hockey Hall of Famers, current pro players, coaches, and GMs in the NHL, and two members of the famed 1980 Winter Olympic 'Miracle On Ice' team. The program was rumored to be close to shutting down until people galvanized to start the 'Bring Back The Glory' fundraising campaign to secure the future of hockey at the school.

Within the neighborhood of athletic facilities on the northwest corner of the Ohio State campus sits Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium, a well-equipped ballpark most minor league teams would envy. Swisher’s name may sound familiar as the former Buckeye and current New York Yankee donated $500,000 for the installation of a new turf field. Currently in a bit of lull for the attention of Columbus sports fans, Ohio State baseball has been a consistent competitor in the Big Ten and puts out a great product for those paying attention.[...]

Bobcat basketball at Ohio U. - Convocation Center Review, Ohio Bobcats | Stadium Journey

For an arena built in 1968, the Ohio University Convocation Center is a rather decent place to watch basketball. Renovations throughout the years have kept "The Convo" on par with Ohio’s competition and helped maintain a strong home atmosphere. It’s rare these days that arenas & stadiums are able to last over 40 years but the location of the Convocation Center is wonderful. There are definitely some cosmetic improvements that need to happen (e.g., some busted plastic chairbacks scattered throughout). I hope that the university goes further to renovate the arena and improve the game-watching experience.

Bowling Green Falcons Swoop Into Columbus - Stadium Journey

A football game in late November in Columbus, Ohio usually means one thing, the traditional clash between Ohio State and Michigan. This year will be no different, as Ohio Stadium is set to host that game on Saturday, November 24th. However, the night before, the Bowling Green State University Falcons will play a home game away from its base of Doyt Perry Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio, with a game versus Mid-American Conference foe Buffalo at Columbus Crew Stadium.
